Pilates
Joseph Pilates developed this exercise method, which focuses on the center of strength to strengthen and stretch the entire body. The stretching and strengthening are combined with breathing, thus achieving the body's state of balance.

During the exercises, great emphasis is placed on concentration and conscious control of the body. That is why the number of repetitions is low, as this is the only way to consciously monitor our movements.
In the original Pilates routine, the exercises follow each other in a specific order, with connecting - dance-like - elements in between. Thus, flow and continuity are also important characteristics of Pilates.
During the exercises, attention to the powerhouse and neutral spine alignment is very important. The powerhouse consists of:
- the abdomen,
- the lower back, and
- the gluteal muscles.
Neutral spine alignment means performing the exercises while maintaining the natural curves of the spine.
That is why Pilates is recommended for the prevention of lower back pain and for improving the body's condition in a symptom-free state, as it strengthens and stretches while focusing on proper spinal posture.
